Blue Ridge Running Camp 09
Published by
I just got back from BRRC today. I had an amazing time meeting new people and experiencing the joy of running 5 miles straight up a mountain. I got to meet the University of Indiana track coach: Coach Helmer, the George Town's men's coach: Coach Henner, and the coach of the universe: Jack Daniels This camp was definitely a great way to start off the season because of the motivational speakers they had there and from the things I've learned to help make me a better runner, teammate, and most of all a better person. I went there knowing only one person and came back knowing tons of amazing coaches and athletes who some I will be good friends with for a long time. Like I said, we got to run up Reddish Knob, a 5 mile mountain climb to the very top. I finished out running 47:49.. not too bad thanks to the hills I run up all around my town here in Fayetteville. This was definitely a mile stone in my running career because I realized how weak I really was yet getting to the top was the most accomplished feeling I've felt so far in my running career. I'm pumped to come back next year with hopes of bringing my teammates with me. Best week of my summer.
